Dear Saints Peter & Paul families,
August is dedicated to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. The Church honors Our Lady's heart as the seat of her love for Christ and the model of a life given over completely to God. As we begin a new school year, we place our students, families, and faculty under her care.

Rather than have students carry everything in on the first morning, please drop supplies off ahead of time in the gym. For either Amazon or personal deliveries, please list your child's name. Supplies may be dropped off Tuesday-Sunday from 7:00 AM - 7:00 pm - Just text us when you're on your way.
We are planning SPP's after-school activity offerings now, and we want them to reflect what suits your family and what your children are most interested in.
Please share your preferences here by Friday, August 28th. Your answers shape what we are able to run, so even a quick response helps.

The enrichment clubs above end between 4:00 PM and 4:30 PM. For families who need more time, after-school care is available until 6:00 PM for $15 per day per child, beginning Tuesday, September 8th. Please click here to sign up.

SEPTEMBER SCHOOL LUNCH MENU
If you would like your child to take part in our school lunch program, order forms are due back to the office by Tuesday, Aug. 25th, though the program itself does not begin until Tuesday, September 8th. Participation is optional, and lunches must be pre-ordered. To sign up or to learn more:

I am glad to share that the school now has a library. What we need are books to fill it, and more shelving to hold them. Donations of all kinds are welcome, including reference books such as encyclopedias, dictionaries, and atlases. If you know of anyone who has good books they would like to donate, please let us know and we will arrange a time.
On Tuesday, September 8th, the Church celebrates the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and we will mark Our Lady's birthday with a cupcake contest.
Bring entries to the gym at morning drop-off on September 8. One entry per student.
Every cupcake must be home-baked. Store-bought entries cannot be judged.
Each entry must arrive with a full list of ingredients on a card, so that families with allergies can celebrate with the rest of us.
Entry is $5, cash or check payable to Sts. Peter & Paul School, in an envelope marked with your child's name and grade. Please text me if you prefer to pay through FACTS, Zelle, or Venmo. Send it with the entry or drop it at the office by Friday, September 4th.
Entries are judged in three groups: TK through 2nd, 3rd through 5th, and 6th through 8th. Judging is on taste, appearance, and how well the cupcake honors Our Lady.
Winners are announced in the afternoon, and the cupcakes are shared with the whole school before dismissal.
We left for summer vacation in June, the month the Church gives to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and we return in August, the month given to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. The two belong together. The Church observes that no heart resembles Christ's more closely than his mother's, which is why the liturgy sets them side by side for our veneration. A school year is a long stretch of ordinary days, and we hope to spend it teaching your children to love what Christ loves, with the help of the Mother who learned it first.
