Dear Families,

October is the month of the Holy Rosary, and Our Lady has come to stay with us. Through the generosity of a parishioner, every classroom now has its own statue of Our Lady of Fatima in a protective case. Each week, one student will bring her home, along with a binder of prayers and instructions. Every student will also receive a rosary. Our teachers are taking her home first, and then she will begin visiting your families. When she comes to your home, please give her a place of honor and pray the Rosary together, even just a decade each night.

At Fatima, Our Lady asked three shepherd children to pray the Rosary every day. Two of them, Francisco and Jacinta, are now saints, and they weren’t much older than our students. As the month comes to a close, All Hallows’ Eve is the vigil of All Saints Day, and we will keep it the Catholic way, with the saints:

All Saints Day Assembly: Friday, Oct. 30, 10:00 AM. Students come to school dressed as their saints, and the assembly closes with the Litany of the Saints. There is no car pick-up line that day. Please park in the drive-thru area and come in through the back entrance to the auditorium. After the assembly, pick up your child in their classroom and stay for cake in the courtyard outside their class.

SPP’s Catholic Hallowe’en Carnival: Saturday, Oct. 31, 4:00–8:00 PM, here at the school. Make sure to bring your family! It’s an authentically Christian way to celebrate this very Catholic holiday. Spread the word, consider volunteering for service hours, and click here to learn more. We hope to see you all there!

It was great seeing you at the PTO school information night! If you missed it, or missed the survey I sent earlier this summer, please share your thoughts about the school through this quick survey. Your voice matters a great deal to us!

We are very grateful to Coach Johnson and Mrs. Alario for sharing their talents in SPP’s after-school sports and enrichment program! Below is a shot of our fencers in their new gear.

Tomorrow we celebrate the feast of St. Teresa of Ávila, one of the four women Doctors of the Church. You’ll meet her at our assembly, too, since she is one of our narrators! She wrote:

“Let nothing disturb you, let nothing frighten you. All things pass away; God never changes. Patience obtains all things. Whoever has God lacks nothing. God alone suffices.”

With gratitude and prayers,
Rachelle
