UNITED IN MISSION

Saints Peter and Paul Parish is a Los Angeles Archdiocesan parish entrusted to the pastoral care of the Norbertines. By living out their charism of Communio, especially by common liturgical prayer, our Norbertine Parish strives to foster a community that is gloriously Eucharistic and Eucharistically glorious.

Our Parish School is rooted in upholding the dignity, worth, and call to holiness of each member of the school community, as commanded by Jesus Christ. We believe that faithfulness to the Magisterium of the Roman Catholic Church brings forth a desire to become saints. In practicing a sacramental life, fidelity to God’s laws, and deep personal prayer, one will be able to heed the admonition of Saint Paul: “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that you may prove what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect” (Romans 12: 2). Each student will be formed using the cardinal virtues of prudence, justice, fortitude and temperance as a guide in developing future leaders of the Catholic Church. As Catholic educators, guided by the Holy Spirit, we intend to develop our students physically, mentally, and spiritually; and invite their families to partake in the experience of learning, living, and worshipping in an authentic Catholic school environment.

STATEMENT OF SCHOOL PHILOSOPHY

We the faculty of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic School declare our beliefs:

That we have accepted from Christ a Mission of service to the Christian community of Saints Peter and Paul School, Wilmington.
That we have been delegated by the Church to share with parents in the Catholic Christian education of their children.
That as a community, we profess our belief in God, to whom we turn in faith and hope for guidance in our task.
That we strive to foster a Catholic Christian vision of the human person and society. We believe in the uniqueness, the dignity, and the worth of every child confided to our care, and we cherish our role in aiding the student to attain the fullest measure of Christ.
We believe that a Catholic education should lead the child toward a degree of excellence in the moral and spiritual, social, intellectual, psychological, aesthetic and physical aspects of life. Page 5 Parent/student handbook 2025-2026
We believe in the spiritual destiny of the human person and consequently, it is our intention to reflect basic Catholic principles in all our endeavors, and to provide for our students the experience of learning, living, and worshipping in a Christian community.
We realize the responsibility of the Christian witness of our lives and strive for a degree of unity, harmony, and friendship in our relationship with each other and with the students.
Facing squarely the problem of evil, we believe that Good ultimately prevails, and we strive to emphasize values based on Sacred Scripture.
We believe in the value of self-discipline, and provide opportunities for growth and responsible behavior.
We believe in the right of every child to achieve an education regardless of race, condition or age, and we hope to encourage in each, the spirit of inquiry, a search for truth, and a growing sense of wonder.
We encourage our students and the broader school community to firstly seek eternal salvation that can only be found in Jesus Christ, our Savior and our Lord.
